Review Week #8

Why must designers pay close attention to how color is utilized within a composition?
So that they can appeal to the audience that they are trying to, and grab people's attention.

Why is the color wheel an important tool for graphic designers?
By using the color wheel, it provides us with a visual of how colors work together and which ones provide for a more enhancing design.

Find an example of neutral colors utilized within a design (hint: google poster design). Near the sample, discuss why you feel the designer included neutral colors within the composition.
The designer of this poster uses the grays, blacks, and whites, to attract more attention to the bright, eye-catching stars in the middle. With a background that was also bright, the colors wouldn't appear as vivid as they do with a contrasting one.

Briefly describe how we "see" the color of an object?
We don't actually see the color, we see the wavelengths of visible light that are reflected back to our eyes. For example, if you are looking at a red shirt, red is the wavelength reflected back to your eyes and all of the other colors of the rainbow are absorbed in to the shirt.
